Gear Pump Malfunction Analysis And Methods Of Its Solution
The most common malfunction of gear pumps during operation is oil absorption.
It happens that the gear pump cannot absorb oil or the oil absorption is insufficient.
When the gear pump does not absorb oil or the oil absorption is insufficient, the hydraulic system
cannot work normally; during the working process, the pressure in the hydraulic system is unstable
or noise occurs, and bubbles appear in the fuel tank; the oil temperature in the gear pump
rises rapidly, and the gear pump is damaged.
Possible causes of failure and methods of their solution:
1.The oil level in the fuel tank is too low
Fill the oil to the specified height of the oil surface.
2.The oil viscosity is too high
Use oil of the recommended viscosity.
3.Clogging of the oil suction filter and oil suction pipe
Clean the strainer and remove the blockage.
4.Oil suction pipe leakage
Find the air leak and fix it.
5.The oil suction pipe is too thin and too long, there are blind corners on the bend and too many bends.
Thicken the oil pipe and shorten the oil pipe to prevent dead ends and reduce bends when bending
the pipe.
6.The O-ring or O-ring of the suction port flange for leaking oil is too small or the O-ring is damaged
Install a new O-ring that meets the requirements.
7.Poor sealing surface of the oil suction hole flange
Check the sealing surface for deformations, burrs, scratches and dirt and make
appropriate corrections.
